It is sponsored by Ballroom, a Marfa art museum and is actually located on a stretch of highway one mile out of Valentine, Tx. The map above will get you there.
See The Mysterious Marfa Lights
You have heard of the Northern lights, but Marfa, Texas has it's own version. Scoot out of town about 9 miles East on U.S. 90 and you will find the official viewing area for the lights. There you will find free telescopes and public restrooms. SOme tips, go later at night than dusk, and go on a cloudless night. You will have better visibility with clear skies. The lights themselves can be blue, red, or white and flicker in the distance.
